Breaks

This week has been so rainy in Houston! aagghh…I think I’ve seen the sun a couple of times..I hate it! I really hate to get my shoes wet!! First because after they dry they smell! and second because my feet smell too!! oh..and third! They get messed up!! Luckily I haven’t got my shoes wet this time! YAY * I love it when it rains and I can stay in, in the warmth of my house watching TV and drinking hot chocolate con mi colchita & Jorge of course! LOL.

So the weekend is coming up and I have a busy schedule. Today a housewarming/birthday party. Tomorrow my dad’s birthday bbq…Can’t wait for that one! Too bad it’s cold because he has a pool and I love to get in! I absolutely love to swim and relax in the water. After that, we have a house party for Halloween. I can’t wait to see people’s costumes! I love to see people all dresses up, it’s so much fun!!

Sunday will be my dad’s last day at the church. He has to say good bye to everyone there. I think it’s a sad thing to do and I admire the courage he has to do it. In all honesty, he needs to rest. He needs to get better and focus more on himself. He has given his life & energy to those people for more than 5 years, now it’s time for him to give himself a break.

I guess it’s always good to give yourself a break. Have time for yourself and focus on you. We spend so much time focusing on work, school, money, traffic, tomorrow. We forget to spend time with family, friends and ourselves. There’s so much more in life than stressing about things you can’t change, and that’s where I found myself all the time. I’ve learned that I need to give more time to life. Live more and stress less. Hang out with friends, leave the problems behind. Relax. Take vacations. Know that work is work and once you step outside the office your “work” mind has to stay behind. So many people get sick because of stress. I don’t want to be one of them. Life is more important.I am more important.

I have so much fun hanging out with friends, doing nothing, being with Jorge watching TV and I hate when conversation about stressing things come up! You know, everything has its time. Everything can wait.

As for my Halloween costume, I still haven’t decided. I am still thinking. Although, I have a few options. We’ll see tomorrow !!!

Monday Morning

Ugh! I hate waking up to a rainy morning! It makes me want to sleep in. I wonder why weekends are sunny and nice and weekdays are rainy and cold? If weekends were like that I would sleep in all day! LOL.

So this weekend I had a wake up call. Very personal, so I can’t share, but I can say that my eyes have been opened to the real world. Taking things lighter isn’t always a bad idea.

Friday I went to my friend Cherry’s house. I ate home made empanadas that her mom had made. Absolutely delicious! (Am I always writting about food?) Her mom is really nice! She’s funnyyy…Makes me laugh all the time. I also went to my dad’s house and spend a couple of hours talking about life. He was watching Benjamin Button with his wife and I interrupted boooo…I like that movie!! But I had fun. My dad is always fun.

On Saturday I had a lunch date with my bff/twin Patty. We went to eat in the city. It’s always fun to be with her. We surprisingly got lost. LOL. Patty always gets lost. She has a Tom Tom but that dumb thing never works! I strongly think people  should not buy a Tom Tom!!! It doesn’t work! If anything, buy a Garmin! Tom Tom never finds anything. Here’s an example. I live like a mile from a Wal-Mart, if you put in Wal Mart in the Tom Tom it’ll come back saying “Not found” ha! Crazy!! Anyway….After that I went home for a nap and then got ready for girls night out. We headed out to Bronx Bar in Rice Village. It was supposed to be GNO but it didn’t end up that way! Jorge and his brother Tony came to meet us there and my friend Cherry’s cousin came along too. We had fun! After that we went to eat Venezuelan food. Aaaaahhhh…That’s my late night temptation!! We always go there after the club. It’s this bus on the side of the road! It’s so good, I had una arepa con pollo y un perro caliente. Que riiicoo… I love it!

Sunday I took my baby Leo down to the dog park. He had a blast! The day was so nice! He played with other doggies and went in the pond. I have no idea why lately he likes to go in. He used to hate it!! He doesn’t like water but likes to sit in the water for a few minutes. Bien Loco. He’s adorable!!! I can’t wait to get him a baby brother <3

I still haven’t decided what to be for Halloween. I have things in mind but am not sure. I NEED HELP!!!

This month is Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month. I personally don’t own a shelter dog but have considered many times. Please consider it too, there are many shelter dogs & cats that need our help. Let’s give them a loving home

TGIF!

*Back on my feet finally! YAY!

Back @ work and back to normal. LOL. So I’ve been home sick and spending quality time with my bed and my couch. Not much fun. It’s the first time I’ve been an actual couch potato, or whatever it’s called. I’m always doing something, school, work, out, who knows, something! But I had to be home doing…nothing. I’m kind of glad I’m back @ work, even if it’s not the greatest, I have come to realize that it’s not that bad, it has it’s ups & downs as everything else. I think I have a love/hate relationship with it.

Today I saw my new office, yes! we are moving! Getting a new desk and a designated area for me aahh…great! I love decorating and this will be “my” space. Even though I’ve been in the same office for almost 4 years I still feel it’s not “me.” So, I’m begging to plan how it will look like! YAY! *

The weekend is finally here..Don’t have plans yet but I sure want to do something, it’s gorgeous outside! and the weekend will be great also, so they say!Last weekend was beautiful! I went to this place called Crave Cupcakes. It’s DELICIOUS! I am personally a cupcake lover, but this place! is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!! I can’t wait to go back, Jorge and I had the Nutella cupcake and absolutely loved it! I want a whole box for my bday!!! (I already made the request! LOL) Everyone should try it. It’s on uptown park, right next to “my fit foods.” Isn’t it ironic? It was kind of funny because we were sitting outside eating our cupcakes and this really fit guy with a “my fit foods” shirt and looked at me eating my yummy cupcake with a face that said “Hunnie you are at the wrong place!” LMAO It was just funny.

I’m just feeling very positive and happy that I am alive and even though we have ups & downs everything seems to take a good way all the time! So blessed to be stressed! <3

Busy days..

The last couple of days have been hectic for me @ work. I’ve been exhausted everyday when I get home. I just want to crash, the bad part is, I CAN’T! My day isn’t over until 10:30-11pm…I always have something to do. That I have to do. Monday I left work late and had class after that. Tuesday is my busiest day of the week. Meeting in the morning and then a bunch of stuff in the afternoon. Yesterday afternoon I had to study, I have a midterm on Thursday. My favorite class! Business <3 For some reason, I really enjoy that class. It’s so interesting and the Professor is so dynamic. I love learning about how the “business world” works. It kind of energizes me. I hope I do well. It’s a lot that I have to study.

I’m so ready for a vacation. Lately I haven’t been sleeping well and there’s a lot of things that are going on that are making me go crazy. Too much for me. I’ve never felt like there’s too much going on until now. I need to relax. Someone told me yesterday “Do not worry about tomorrow, worry about today.” Well, that’s me, always worrying. Anxiety levels at high.All the time! LOL.

Can’t wait to be home tonight and watch Nip Tuck today at 9pm on FX! Oh yeah! and study too. LOL !!!

Que frio!

This weekend in Houston was so so cold! On Saturday we went to Jorge’s company’s Annual Picnic! It was fun, but I was freezing! Silly me decided to wear sandals..Dumb idea! It was all muddy because it had been raining all week. I had a blast, eating, talking, just hanging out! I love the people that work with him
After that, we saw Mexico vs El Salvador @ my house. We lost . Boo, we’re out! not going to the world cup..So sad. Jorge was disappointed! It was overall a bad week for his teams. El Salvador lost, they’re out. The Boston Red Sox lost, they’re out. The New England Patriots lost and the Boston Bruins lost too!…That’s bad luck!
Sunday Jorge and I had a lunch date. We woke up really late because the sun never came out! It definitely was sleep-in weather.  We went to Baby Barnaby’s in Montrose.  My friend Chris had taken me there and the moment I tasted the food I loved it! I wanted to take Jorge there because I knew he would really like it to, so I did! And as I thought, he loved it too It’s so good!! After that we chilled at the house and visited my dad at night. He’s doing so much better! he is definitely a walking miracle…<3

Margaritas, Mary Kay and Babies…

Last week my friend Lilian asked me if I was interested in getting a free facial, I was like “if it’s free of course I am!” LOL. So, last night Lilian, Patty and I had a beauty consultant over at my house to give us a free Mary Kay demonstration! We decided to have some margaritas so we could have una perfecta girls night in …Believe it or not it was so much fun! We had some mirrors in front of us, the mirrors had some kind of plate in front of them where the beauty consultant put the creams and foundations she was showing us. We got to try all the products and then did our make up. I didn’t know the Mary Kay products were so nice! I really liked them! They had some really good fragrances also. Try ‘em out!
After the beauty consultant left, we stayed chit chatting and my friend Patty told me that our friend Carmen, who is one of my best friends in the world, had a miscarriage. OMG, I was so sad. She was 3 months into her pregnancy and had started bleeding and when she went to the doctor they couldn’t listen to the baby’s heart beat. The doctors told her that the baby had died. It was such bad news for her and her fiance, but even thought they were really sad, they understood that God has a purpose for everything and things always happen for a reason. I agree. I am sure next time they try everything will turn out great. They’re young and healthy and full of life!

So I’ve decided to start a blog. Not that I am a celebrity and everyone wants to know my business but it’s mainly just for fun. I waste so much time reading that I decided I should start writing. Si, en ingles. ha! Let’s see what I do, that doesn’t mean I won’t throw my Spanglish in here. I am sure I will

Ok. So, my blog will be about..Yes, u guessed right. ME <3 ! and the craziness, boredom and fantasies of my life. Living just like any regular girl in her 20′s. No, I don’t attend fashion shows during the week, in a regular weekday you can find me in an office sitting in front of a computer, working! Yup, that’s what most of us do on a weekday. We work. On a weekend I’ll be doing something to get out of my regular routine…ANYTHING!…But that I’ll show with time.
